The King’ori Teachers College, commonly referred to as Chuo Cha Ualimu King’ori . King’ori Teachers College (KTC) is a co-educational teacher training college offering teachers education at Certificate and Diploma level. The college is fully registered and accredited.
King’ori Teachers College (KTC) was founded in October 2011, on the slopes of Mt. Meru, in Arusha region. Esupat, the founder, gained her teaching qualifications at the age of 22 and realized that there is a high demand for teachers in her country, Tanzania.
The college gained full registration in October 2011, and as stated earlier, with an enrollment of four (4) students: three (3) girls and one (1) boy for the academic year 2011/2012. The next academic year KTC registered 30 students, with a 100% pass rate and teaching positions offered by the government in public schools. In the 2013/2014 academic year, the college introduced a funding scheme of providing fully funded education to marginalized students. With an enrollment of sixty (60) students, twenty (20) students were fully sponsored. The scheme was mostly funded by the founder, through personal savings and bank loans, which she would pay off with her income. The passion to do this was motivated by the challenges she faced as a teacher in both public and private schools.
