The Kcmc – Training Centre For Health Records Technology, commonly referred to as Chuo Cha Health Records Kcmc,
TCHRT is a school under the Ministry of Health located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Moshi ,one of Tanzania’s four consultant hospitals.
The school, which is the only one of its kind in the country started 1991. The course is replacing a previous one year training.
The school building are equipped with modern teaching aids.
Accommodation is provided in a students’ hostel within the hospital compound
Course
The overall of the Health Records Technician training is to prepare health personnel to be capable of managing and maintaining health records and information systems.
TCHRT provides a two years’ full time course comprising of six blocks. The medium of instruction is English. The examinations are both theoretical. Certificate in Health Records Technology is a awarded by the Ministry of Health, Tanzania, to those who successfully pass the final qualifying examinations.
