What are KIUT entry requirements?
KIUT Entry requirements are formal criteria you KIUT meet in order to be considered for a degree course you’re applying to at the Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT).
These criteria are set by the Kampala International University in Tanzania, to determine whether you’re capable of meeting its objectives. This is based on relevant or similar skills, knowledge and ability you’ve demonstrated in previous qualifications, exams and assessments – see below the full list of entry requirements you might need to meet, for a given course at the Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT).
The following is the Kampala International University in Tanzania Entry requirements, every prospective student at the Kampala International University in Tanzania is recommended to read the Entry requirements before applying for Admission to any academic programme available at KIUT for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
ADMISSION ENTRY FOR BACHELORS PROGRAMMES
Direct Entry
For form six applicants the minimum entry qualification is two principal passes in relevant A-Level subjects with total of 4.0 points (except for Health Science programmes with total of 6 and 8 points).
- Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) with at least GPA of 3.0; or
- Full Technician Certificate (FTC) with at least points average of 3.0 (where A=5, B=4, C=3, and D=2points); or
- Diploma in Teacher Education with an average of ‘B’ grade; or
- Average of ‘B’ Grade for Health-related awards such as Clinical Medicine and others; or
- A Distinction for unclassified diplomas and certificates; or
- Upper Second Class for classified non-NTA diplomas.
- For Applicants completed A-Level studies before 2014, two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1).
- For Applicants who completed their A-Level studies in 2014 and 2015, Two principal passes (Two Cs) with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B+ = 4; B = 3; C= 2; D = 1).
- For Applicants who completed A –Level studies from 2016, Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1).

Admission requirements for Diploma Programmes
DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four passes in non-religious subjects AND Holder any Basic Technician Certificate NTA Level 4 in any program from a recognized Institution OR Holder of Advanced Certificate of secondary education examination with one principle pass and two subsidiary passes
DIPLOMA IN ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMMES
General Minimum Entrance Requirements: for ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMMES
Direct Entrant
- Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Medicine – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
- Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry and Biology. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
- Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
Upgrading Entrant
- Medical Laboratory Sciences – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry , Biology, Basic Mathematics, Physics/Engineering Sciences and English Language AND must have Passed Technician Certificate (NTA Level 5) in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
- Clinical Medicine – Holders of Certificate (NTA level 5) in Clinical Medicine with “D” pass in Chemistry, Biology or Physics (CSEE) for the graduates starting from 2010; OR Graduates before NTA’s system should have Certificate in Clinical Medicine and at Least “D” Pass in any science subject; Necessary Attachments: Technician Certificate and Transcript in Clinical Medicine and Letter of Permission from employer for graduates before 2015.

Admission requirements for Certificate Programmes
CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
A candidate should have a minimum of four passes at O-Level (exclusive of religious subjects).
TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE
General Minimum Admissions Requirements for Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory
Pharmacy – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including “D” passes in Biology and Chemistry.
Medical Laboratory – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Science AND Holder of Basic Technician Certificate in Medical Laboratory.
Clinical Medicine – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Science AND Holder of Basic Technician Certificate in Clinical Medicine.

Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) general Entry Requirements for certificate and diploma Programmes
For an applicant to be eligible for admission into certificate and diploma Programmes, he/she KIUT satisfy the minimum entry requirements of four passes in non-religious subjects in Certificate of secondary education examination (CSEE). However, there are some programme requirements that are specific to certain programmes.
