Form Five Selection 2026 Tabora Region: Full List, Top Schools & Reporting Guide

in Selection

Let me speak plainly: being selected to study Form Five in Tabora carries real weight. Tabora’s schools especially Tabora Boys and Tabora Girls have produced some of Tanzania’s earliest leaders and thinkers. You are not just going to another region you’re stepping into a place where history was shaped by students who walked those same corridors. Families know this. Students dream of it.

So, are the 2026 TAMISEMI Tabora selections out yet? Right now, as of now, they are not. We expect the official Form Five selection lists to be released in May or June 2026, based on how things went last year and this year’s timing. Sources indicate that selections usually follow a few months after the CSEE results, which came out in January or February. Knowing this, it makes sense to prepare now, so you’re ready the moment the list drops.

The Selform MIS Update Window

If you haven’t already, go to the Selform portal and perfect your subject combination and school preferences before May 10, 2026. That is the final absolute deadline. After that, changes are not accepted.

Here’s what you need to do now:

  • Visit the official Selform portal at selform.tamisemi.go.tz.
  • Log in with your Form Four index number and password.
  • Review your subject choices—especially if you’re aiming for science combinations like PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).
  • Confirm your school preferences. If your heart is set on Tabora Boys, Tabora Girls, Milambo, or Kazima, make sure they’re in the correct order.
  • Save and log out only after you see confirmation that your updates are accepted.

What this means for you is plain: you control those preferences until May 10. After that, allocations will hinge on what you entered and your actual CSEE performance.

Legendary Government A‑Level Schools in Tabora

Let me tell you what’s special about Tabora’s schools:

  • Tabora Boys Secondary School traces its roots back to 1922. It was set up to educate the sons of African chiefs and influential families. It earned the nickname the “Eton of Tanganyika” for a reason. A number of ministers in the first self-governing cabinet in 1961 came from there
  • Tabora Girls Secondary School dates back to 1928. It was founded to educate daughters of local chiefs, and has produced pioneering women leaders—like Anna Abdallah, the first woman District Commissioner, Julie Manning, the first woman law graduate in Tanzania, and Gertrude Mongella, the first President of the Pan‑African Parliament .
  • Then there’s Milambo and Kazima Secondary Schools. They don’t often get headlines like the “Special Schools,” but they’re strong, well‑established institutions in the Tabora region. Students who are strong in arts or sciences still fight for spots there.

These are not just schools. They’re institutions with legacy, prestige, and a history of nurturing leaders. Competition is real—especially for science tracks. If that’s your aim, the journey starts with this article and your entries in Selform.

How to View the Form Five Selection List for Tabora Region

Once the lists drop, you will need to know exactly how to find your name for Tabora.

  • Step 1: Visit selform.tamisemi.go.tz. That is the official TAMISEMI portal.
  • Step 2: Look for the “First Selection 2026/2027” dashboard or equivalent link—this shows up once the list is live.
  • Step 3: Instead of typing your index number, click “Search by Region”. Then select Tabora.
  • Step 4: Narrow down by council or district—Tabora Municipal Council (MC), Nzega TC, Nzega DC, Igunga, Urambo, Sikonge, Kaliua, Uyui. Then click on the school PDF to view the list of selected students.

If your school appears, download that PDF immediately. It will include the Joining Instructions—which you must have when reporting. You’ll need to bring it with your report‑in documents.

You’re Posted to Tabora! Essential Travel & Survival Logistics

First: download that Joining Instructions PDF from the portal as soon as you see your name. It will include fees, required uniform, reporting dates, and any medical or ID documents required.

Tabora sits at the heart of the Central Railway Line. If you’re coming from Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Dodoma, or Kigoma, the TRC passenger train is the most reliable and classic route. It’s comfortable, safe, and gives you a chance to enjoy the countryside. But be warned: train tickets disappear fast during student reporting weeks. Book as early as possible.

If the train isn’t an option, long‑distance buses run to Tabora from major towns. They’re usually fewer in number and the roads can be rough, especially in the mid‑year dry season. Still, they’re a dependable alternative.

Once you arrive, the climate is warm and dry—this is Tabora’s mid‑year dry season. Bring light clothing, but also be ready for dust and heat. If you’re headed to Tabora Boys or Tabora Girls, know that both are situated close to the station or bus stand—Tabora Girls, for instance, is about 3 km from the railway station and 4 km from the bus stand . That’s walkable or a short dala‑dala ride.

As someone who’s seen many students report there, here’s my advice: keep a small bag with essentials—water, snacks and expect delays. But this is a historic moment for you. Tabora is a place with a legacy. You’re part of it now.

Alternative Pathways If You Missed the Tabora Selection

Not seeing your name on the list can feel like a blow. But it’s not the end of your plans.

TAMISEMI runs a Second Selection phase—usually before August. That gives you another shot at a government A‑Level spot, including in Tabora if places open up .

If that doesn’t work out, consider strong private A‑Level schools in the Western Zone. They may accept late applications from high‑performing CSEE students. Or you might look into NACTE‑accredited diploma programs nearby—technical colleges or teacher training centers in Tabora, Urambo, or Nzega. That path can lead to diploma qualifications in science or education, laying the groundwork for future university entry or teaching careers.

The key is not to stop. Your results and preferences today don’t lock your future forever. Keep planning, stay informed, and explore each option until you land where you can grow.

Tabora’s schools are more than academic venues they’re part of our national story. Tabora Boys educated men who shaped our post‑independence government. Tabora Girls did the same for women leaders. The schools were early “special schools” aimed at high‑achievers introduced to concentrate scarce resources on top performers.

When you step onto the grounds of these schools, you’re walking where national leaders once learned. That’s not hype. It’s history.

This matters for you because it shapes expectations academic, behavioral, leadership. If you’re posted there, you’re entering a demanding but rewarding environment. You need to be prepared mentally and practically. Understanding this gives you a clearer idea of what life there will be like.

If you’re posted to Tabora, you’ll need to plan travel, lodging, and school supplies in advance. If not, there are other paths worth pursuing.

I encourage you to:

  • Focus now on perfecting your Selform entries by May 10.
  • Watch the portal closely in May and early June.
  • Download joining instructions immediately if you get selected.
  • Book train tickets early if headed to Tabora, or have bus options ready.
  • Plan your packing for dry, warm weather and long travel days.
  • Have a backup plan—second selection, private schools, or diploma programs.

This is a big step. But you’re not alone—you have this guide, you have your family, and soon you’ll have a school community ready to shape your next chapter.
