What are ATC entry requirements?
ATC Entry requirements are formal criteria you ATC meet in order to be considered for a degree course you’re applying to at the Arusha Technical College (ATC).
These criteria are set by the Arusha Technical College, to determine whether you’re capable of meeting its objectives. This is based on relevant or similar skills, knowledge and ability you’ve demonstrated in previous qualifications, exams and assessments – see below the full list of entry requirements you might need to meet, for a given course at the Arusha Technical College (ATC).
The following is the Arusha Technical College Entry requirements, every prospective student at the Arusha Technical College is recommended to read the Entry requirements before applying for Admission to any academic programme available at ATC for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ORDINARY DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
QUALIFICATIONS
a) Qualified Applicants should be a holder of Certificate of Secondary Examination Education (CSEE) with a minimum of four (4) passes of “D” grades in Physics or Engineering Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English.
b) Applicants of Laboratory Sciences & Technology and Electrical and Biomedical Engineering programmes must have passed Biology in addition to the above requirement
c) Applicants of Computer Science or Information Technology must have minimum of four (4) passes of grade “D” in any subjects excluding Religious, Nutrition, and Needle work
d) For a holder of Certificate in Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science (CS) aspiring to join Diploma in Information and Technology and Computer Science should apply direct to the college. A holder with certificate qualification will be admitted into NTA level 5 (Technician Certificate Award leading to Ordinary Diploma Award for two (2) years.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BASIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATES PROGRAMMES
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with minimum of four (4) passes of grade “D” in any subject excluding Religious, Nutrition, and Needle work
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES
QUALIFICATIONS
1.1 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Irrigation Engineering (B.ENG. CIE)
Holders of Ordinary Diploma (NTA level 6) in Civil Engineering OR Civil and Irrigation Engineering OR Transportation/highway Engineering OR Water Supply and Sanitation OR irrigation Engineering all with at least GPA of 3.0 and at least four O’- Level passes (Ds and above) and one of these passes must be mathematics OR Holders of Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Civil Engineering OR Transportation/Highway Engineering OR Water Supply and Sanitation OR irrigation Engineering all with at least average of C grade (3 points) and at least four O’-Level passes (Ds and above) and one of these passes must be mathematics.
2.1 Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering (B.ENG. EBE)
Holders of Ordinary Diploma (NTA level 6) in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering OR Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering all with at least GPA of 3.0 and at least four O’-Level passes (Ds and above) and two of these passes must be mathematics and Biology
3.1 Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)
3.1.1 Entry Requirements(Form Six)
At least two principal passes in Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Economics with total points not below 4.0 obtained from the scoring: A = 5, B = 4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5 or any other scoring recognized by TCU
3.1.2 Entry Requirements-Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6)
At least four O’-Level passes (Ds and above) OR NVA Level III with not less than four O’-Level passes OR equivalent foreign qualifications as established by either NECTA OR VETA; AND i) At least a GPA of 3.0 for Ordinary Diploma in Science and Allied Technologies (NTA Level 6); OR ii) Average of B for Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Science and Allied Technologies (where A=5, B=4, C=3,and D=2 points)
4.1 Bachelor of Computer Science(BCS)
4.1.1Entry Requirements(Form Six)
At least two principal passes in Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Economics with total points not below 4.0 obtained from the scoring: A = 5, B = 4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5 or any other scoring recognized by TCU
4.1.2Entry Requirements-Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6)
At least four O’-Level passes (Ds and above) OR NVA Level III with not less than four O’-Level passes OR equivalent foreign qualifications as established by either NECTA OR VETA; AND i) At least a GPA of 3.0 for Ordinary Diploma in Science and Allied Technologies (NTA Level 6); OR ii) Average of B for Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Science and Allied Technologies (where A=5, B=4, C=3,and D=2 points)

| v) A Distinction for unclassified Diplomas and certificates; OR | |
| vi) Upper Second Class for classified non-NTA Diplomas. | |

Arusha Technical College (ATC) general Entry Requirements for certificate and diploma Programmes
For an applicant to be eligible for admission into certificate and diploma Programmes, he/she ATC satisfy the minimum entry requirements of four passes in non-religious subjects in Certificate of secondary education examination (CSEE). However, there are some programme requirements that are specific to certain programmes.
