Why The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE)??
The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) – Mtihani darasa la saba is a criterion-referenced examination that is administered to all learners who have completed the 7-year primary school programme. PSLE candidates sit examinations in five subjects, namely: Hisabati (Mathematics), English Language, Sayansi(Science, Maarifa ya Jamii (Social Studies), and Kiswahili. PSLE is a very important examination as it is used to decide which of the few children is selected for secondary education.
This is a selection test that enables the government to select form one entrants for its schools. The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) has worldwide acceptance and can be used for entry into the Secondary school level. The objectives of PSLE are to assess learner’s skills and knowledge gained in the different subjects at the primary school level; to assess learners’ understanding of the basic skills and abilities in reading, writing and arithmetic and the extent that they can use such skills in solving pertinent problems in life; and identify learners with the capacity to continue with secondary education and other training institutions.
When will NECTA release the Standard seven results?
