Kampala International University in Tanzania Entry requirements are used to determine who gets admitted into the Kampala International University in Tanzania and which course the person is offered.

The following is the Kampala International University in Tanzania Entry requirements, every prospective students at the Kampala International University in Tanzania is recommended to read the Entry requirements before applying for Admission to any academic programme available at KIUT for the 2020/2021 Academic Year.

ADMISSION ENTRY FOR BACHELORS PROGRAMMES

Direct Entry 
For form six applicants the minimum entry qualification is two principal passes in relevant A-Level subjects with total of 4.0 points (except for Health Science programmes with total of 6 and 8 points).

Recognition of Prior Learning
For the applicants with RPL qualification the minimum qualification is ‘B’ grade.
Equivalent qualifications
For Diploma applicants the minimum entry qualification is at least Four O level passes (D’s and above) or NVA level III with less than four O level passes or equivalent foreign qualifications as established by either NECTA or VETA.
AND
  • Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) with at least GPA of 3.0; or
  • Full Technician Certificate (FTC) with at least points average of 3.0 (where A=5, B=4, C=3, and D=2points); or
  • Diploma in Teacher Education with an average of ‘B’ grade; or
  • Average of ‘B’ Grade for Health-related awards such as Clinical Medicine and others; or
  • A Distinction for unclassified diplomas and certificates; or
  • Upper Second Class for classified non-NTA diplomas.
Note: These grading systems are currently operational:
  • For Applicants completed A-Level studies before 2014, two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1).
  • For Applicants who completed their A-Level studies in 2014 and 2015, Two principal passes (Two Cs) with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B+ = 4; B = 3; C= 2; D = 1).
  • For Applicants who completed A –Level studies from 2016, Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1).

APPLICATION   REQUIREMENTS
Photocopies of the following

One certified photocopy of both ‘‘O’’ and ‘‘A’’ level pass slips or their Equivalent
One photocopy of the receipt of application form
One photocopy of the ID One recent passport size photograph
One photocopy of the birth certificate

Admission requirements for Diploma Programmes

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four passes in non-religious subjects AND Holder any Basic Technician Certificate NTA Level 4 in any program from a recognized Institution OR Holder of Advanced Certificate of secondary education examination with one principle pass and two subsidiary passes

DIPLOMA IN ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMMES
General Minimum Entrance Requirements: for ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMMES

Direct Entrant

  1. Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Medicine – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
  2. Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry and Biology. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
  3. Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.

Upgrading Entrant

  1. Medical Laboratory Sciences – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” Passes in Chemistry , Biology, Basic Mathematics, Physics/Engineering Sciences and English Language AND must have Passed Technician Certificate (NTA Level 5) in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
  2. Clinical Medicine – Holders of Certificate (NTA level 5) in Clinical Medicine with “D” pass in Chemistry, Biology or Physics (CSEE) for the graduates starting from 2010; OR Graduates before NTA’s system should have Certificate in Clinical Medicine and at Least “D” Pass in any science subject; Necessary Attachments: Technician Certificate and Transcript in Clinical Medicine and Letter of Permission from employer for graduates before 2015.

APPLICATION   REQUIREMENTS
Photocopies of the following

  • One certified photocopy of both ‘‘O’’ and ‘‘A’’ level pass slips or their Equivalent
  • One photocopy of the receipt of application form
  • One photocopy of the ID
  • One recent passport size photograph
  • One photocopy of the birth certificate

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

A candidate should have a minimum of four passes at O-Level (exclusive of religious subjects).

TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE
General Minimum Admissions Requirements for Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory

Pharmacy – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects  including “D” passes in Biology and Chemistry.

Medical Laboratory – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Science AND Holder of Basic Technician Certificate in Medical Laboratory.

Clinical Medicine – Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious Subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Science AND Holder of Basic Technician Certificate in Clinical Medicine.

APPLICATION   REQUIREMENTS
